Frank Soo
Frank Soo was born in 1914 in England. He brought up in Liverpool with his Chinese father, English mother and five younger siblings.
Frank was the first player of Chinese orgin in the English Football League. He played in Stoke City, based in Staffordshire. His play was considered to be smart and fast. At first, he was an inside-left but then he played as left-sided half-back. In the season 1935/1936 he broke his leg but overgot it quickly and contributed to the fact that Stoke City finished in the fourth place in 1936 in the English Football League.
Unfortunately, Frank Soo was qualified to the Royal Air Force during the World War II. But even so, he still played. He represented England in unofficial wartime matches. After the war, he continued his career as a football manager. I find it very inspiring that despite the conditions, he managed to enjoy the activity he loved.
